Each year, we host additional events alongside the main INHSU conference. This year, these events include our Community Day, a Policy Day, an EMCR & Community Networking Event, our INHSU Prisons Workshop, and our General Assembly Meeting & Networking Event.
INHSU Policy Day 2024: Rethinking needle and syringe programming: solutions to global access and engagement barriers

Community Day

The Community Day is open to delegates with lived or living experience of drug use. The INHSU Community Day is a vital part of the INHSU Conference, bringing together people with lived and living experience of using drugs and ensuring their voice is amplified during the conference and beyond. The day is organised for the community, by the community, led by the INHSU Community Committee.

INHSU Prisons 4th Annual Workshop

Join INHSU’s Special Interest Group INHSU Prisons for an interactive workshop for those working in carceral settings globally to discuss best practice, challenges and enablers to the scale up of HCV testing and treatment services, as well as strategies to reduce reinfection and HCV transmission through harm reduction interventions.
Topics will include harm reduction in prison settings (including prison based needle and syringe programs and opioid agonist therapy), the ‘how-to’s of implementing HCV & harm reduction interventions, and the delivery of advocacy campaigns for HCV services in prisons globally. The Workshop will also feature the launch of the INHSU Prisons Advocacy Toolkit, a resource supporting implementation and scale up of HCV services in prisons globally.

Early-Mid-Career-Researcher and Community Networking Event

Open to all EMCRs and people with lived- and living-experience of drug use attending INHSU 2024, this networking event provides a chance to break down barriers and connect with people with interests in the health of people who use drugs. This event is scheduled ahead of the main conference to help build connections to last throughout and after the conference. This event is organised collaboratively by the INHSU Community Committee and the INHSU EMCR Special Interest Group.

General Assembly Meeting & Networking Event
