Jason Grebely is Professor and Head of the Hepatitis C and Drug Use Group at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. Jason completed his BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and his PhD in Pharmacology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He then completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Epidemiology at UNSW Sydney.
Jason’s research has contributed to understanding the epidemiology and natural history of HCV and drug use; evidence supporting the care of HCV among PWID; the development of international recommendations for the management of HCV among PWID; and has informed state-based, national, and international strategies for viral hepatitis. He has published over 270 peer-reviewed publications and has current research funding from Australia’s National Health and Medical Research Council and the US National Institutes of Health. Jason is a Senior Editor for the International Journal of Drug Policy.
