New Hepatitis C Intervention Symposium announced for Canada

Join INHSU for a free half-day symposium focused on the practical implementation of evidence-based interventions for hepatitis C (HCV) such as point-of-care testing, dried blood spot testing, peer support, patient navigation and case finding.

INHSU will be delivering two Symposia in November 2022 in Saskatoon and Vancouver, to showcase good practice interventions and models of care from different settings, highlighting key research, challenges and learnings in a collaborative environment, with the aim of supporting participants to develop or enhance their own HCV models of care.

It is intended for anyone interested in implementing or scaling up interventions for HCV in their service setting, including doctors, nurses, frontline workers, peer workers, pharmacists, and policymakers from a variety of settings.

There are three elements to the program;

  1. The practical sessions in the symposia draw from our HCV Intervention Toolkit,
  2. The symposia will bring these interventions to life, providing the practical skills and knowledge needed to implement or scale up interventions in your service
  3. Post-training, participants will have access to ongoing follow-up webinars to support troubleshooting.

By the end of this symposia, you will be able to:

  • Understand evidence-based interventions to enhance the HCV care cascade
  • Describe how a range of interventions work and how they can be implemented to enhance models of HCV care
  • Understand the HCV care cascade and be able to identify areas for enhancement in service delivery
  • Identify suitable interventions to enhance service delivery
  • Analyze barriers to implementing successful interventions and how to overcome them
