Scholarships
We are pleased to announce scholarship opportunities will be available for the 14th International Conference on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users. We will be offering a number of full or partial scholarships for researchers, community members, practitioners, program workers, and policymakers.
The deadline for applications is CLOSED
Please note that those who have not previously received a scholarship will be prioritised.
A full scholarship will include conference registration, return economy class flights, and accommodation, and a partial scholarship will include only the conference registration. Before applying, please ensure you have read the selection criteria.
All scholarship applicants must submit an abstract, except those applying for the Canadian Indigenous Scholarship
To receive a scholarship to INHSU 2026, you must also submit, and have accepted, an abstract to present your work. This approach strengthens both the conference program and the value of each scholarship by:
- Ensuring everyone attending on a scholarship (researchers, practitioners, and community members) are contributing knowledge, experience, or insight back into the network
- Providing an opportunity for recipients to present their work publicly
- Showcasing the work of those who otherwise may not be able to attend

Trainee Scholarships
Trainee Scholarships are available for those currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, professional degree, or PhD program stream and who have an accepted conference abstract.
Community Scholarship
Open to volunteers/employees of drug-user/non-government organizations , people with lived/living experience of drug use and/or HCV and/or other infectious diseases.
Practitioner, Program, & Policy
Available for people who are working to address health and/or hepatitis for people who inject drugs. This includes nurses, physicians, social workers, pharmacists, needle and syringe program workers, counselors, peer workers, program managers, policymakers, government employees, etc.
Indigenous Scholarships — Canada
New for INHSU 2026, scholarships are available for people based in Canada who are nurses and/or trainees (currently studying or post-doc) and who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis).
Disclaimers
The INHSU Scholarship program relies on funding from INHSU reserves, donations, commercial, government and non-government sources. The Scholarship applications are reviewed by an independent panel. Commercial sponsors are not involved in or consulted on the scholarship scoring process.
All applicants must complete the application truthfully and advise the Conference Secretariat if their situation changes.
