Three of INHSU’s Connecting with Care films took home 1st prize at Lisbon Addiction’s Wave Video Contest in Portugal. Directed by visual storyteller Conor Ashleigh, the films were recognised in the category of “Showcasing innovative scientific, technical, and civil society activity.”
The winning entries highlighted innovative hepatitis C care models in Iran, Switzerland, and Portugal. Screened to packed rooms at the Lisbon Addictions conference, the films received outstanding feedback, sparking emotional discussions and practical questions.
The Portugal film left a particularly strong impression, moving many to tears with its heartfelt portrayal of compassion and its deep connection to the host country
Emma Day, INHSU Executive Director, shared: “The response to our films has been overwhelming. Seeing how these stories resonate with people worldwide reminds us of the power of storytelling in creating change. These films are not just about showcasing programs—they’re about connecting, inspiring, and advocating for better health outcomes for people who use drugs.”
