In partnership with the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination and National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD), we recently hosted a highly successful webinar showcasing strategies towards elimination in the US, part of a new community of practice. Over 100 participants registered for the event, which provided a platform for healthcare professionals to share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore innovative solutions to enhance hepatitis C service delivery.
The webinar, which took place on September 17, 2024, featured an impressive lineup of expert speakers dedicated to HCV elimination efforts in the United States:
- Jordan Akerley, Strategic Director at End Hep C SF, provided insights into the collaborative efforts with local health departments in San Francisco aimed at eliminating hepatitis C
- Dr. Blair Thedinger, Associate Medical Director at KC Care Health Center, shared strategies on the ongoing monitoring and surveillance necessary to track the progress of HCV elimination in Missouri
- Rachel Melson, Clinic Director at Swope Health, highlighted the unique approaches taken in community clinics to engage patients in HCV care and treatment
The session focused on real-world experiences in HCV elimination planning, including collaborations with local health departments in Missouri and California. Attendees had the chance to engage with peers, ask questions, and contribute to the discussion on how to move towards HCV elimination in the U.S.
