International Conference on Health and Hepatitis Care in Substance Users

Established in 2009, the annual International Conference on Health and Hepatitis Care in Substance Users welcomes hundreds of practitioners, researchers, policymakers, advocates, community members and people who use drugs every year. 

 

INHSU 2023- GENEVA, SWITZERLAND + ON DEMAND

In October 2023, we headed back to where INHSU was founded and welcomed over 700 people from 50+ countries. The conference featured hundreds of sessions and posters on hepatitis C, infectious diseases, harm reduction, drug policy and more. Selected sessions were also presented via a cutting-edge on-demand platform, allowing colleagues from across the world to access the latest research and insights.

INHSU 2022- GLASGOW, SCOTLAND+ VIRTUAL

Following the cancellation of INHSU 2020 due to COVID-19, we were delighted to finally make it to Glasgow, where we held our three-day conference alongside a packed program of pre-conference events, including a Community Day, a Policy Day focussed on Drug Consumption Rooms, a Prisons Workshop, and more.

INHSU 2021 – VIRTUAL

Initially planned to be held in Sydney, Australia, the 9th International Conference on Health and Hepatitis Care in Substance Users was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was a huge success with 800+ registrations, over 150 live and on-demand sessions, and a series of satellite events held throughout October.

INHSU 2020 – GLASGOW, SCOTLAND (CANCELLED)

INHSU 2020 was due to be held in October 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was postponed, with the next conference planned for October 2021. 

INHSU 2019 – MONTREAL, CANADA

Held in Montreal, Canada, INHSU 2019 welcomed over 750 delegates from nearly 50 countries. With 39 invited speakers, 190+ posters and 84 scholarships awarded to community members, trainees and students, this was the biggest INHSU conference to date. INHSU 2018 – CASCAIS, PORTUGAL

INHSU 2017 – JERSEY CITY, UNITED STATES

INHSU 2016 – OSLO, NORWAY

INHSU 2015 – SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

In 2015, the conference was held in Sydney, Australia with 350 researchers, practitioners, advocates, allied health, policymakers and community members attending. In 2011, the conference was held in Brussels, Belgium.

 

INHSU 2009 – ZURICH, SWITZERLAND

The first-ever international Conference on Hepatitis Care in Substance Users was held in Zurich, Switzerland and marked the establishment of the INHSU global network.
