Louise Hansford has been elected to the INHSU board for the 2023-2026 term, alongside the re-election of Jason Grebely as President, Natasha Martin as Vice President, Andrew Scheibe, and Angela McBride as board members.
After eight years serving on the board, Tracy Swan’s term comes to an end.
“Tracy has played an invaluable role in shaping the strategy of INHSU and growing the organisation,” says INHSU Executive Director Emma Day. ”We cannot thank Tracy enough for her tireless contribution to the network and the needs of people who use drugs. We hope to continue to collaborate in the future.”
The new board announcements were made at the General Annual Meeting at INHSU 2023 in Geneva in October.
Louise Hansford has been a member of INHSU for six years and has worked in hepatitis elimination for 17 years, the last four in a national role. Currently, Louise is Hepatitis C Elimination Coordinator South for the NHS APA (NHS Substance Addiction Providers Alliance in the UK.
Louise has actively contributed to various initiatives within INHSU, including acting as a mentor for conference scholarship recipients, being a reviewer on various INHSU projects such as the hepatitis C intervention toolkit and playing an active role in organising the Community Day and the Early Mid-Career Researchers (EMCR) and Community networking event.
“With my own lived experience and over 20 years working in the field, I look forward to contributing to INHSU’s strategic direction over the coming years,” says Louise.
